Mega Man is one of the most popular video game series in the action or role-playing genre. The game was created by a famous Japanese game maker, Capcom. Its essence is a science fiction game with many robot characters’ participation and the story’s main character called “Mega Man.” The first game in the series was released in 1987 for the Nintendo platform. So far, it has evolved into more than 50 games with many different genres and platforms. The number of games sold as of the end of 2019 is 36 million copies worldwide.
The series originally had a system of 11 main games, a side game called Mega Man & Bass. This series of games is also published on various platforms such as Game Boy, Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, and other console games with original Mega Man designs.
The classic games of the series do not have happy story endings. However, sudden plot changes come from the new Mega Man X series and later Mega man Zero, which has strong graphics and gameplay growth. All Mega Man games follow a sequential time series except Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force.
Most Mega Man’s incarnations have their own stories and settings, but they all seem to share some common points. All the games where mega man as the main character released before 1997 are in the action and platform genre. Players have to pass the levels from low to high, and players can choose the robots they like.
