Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is an extended version of the game Call of Duty 2. It is available on three platforms, including Xbox, PS 2 and Nintendo GameCube. Treyarch is the main developer of this game. Like other versions of the Call of Duty series on Console Game, Call of Duty 2: Big Red On was released by Activision, except for the Japan region. For Japan, this game is published by Konami. Basically, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One was availble in North America and Europe in 2005. In which, the North American version was published on November 1, 2005; in the European region on November 18, 2005. In Japan, the game was released on June 29, 2006, and only supported on the PS 2 platform.
The game content
In addition, when exploring the levels, players will control the character and move continuously on different battlefields with a first-person perspective. During a battle, players can run, crawl on the ground, jump over obstacles or lie on a side. Besides the two basic weapons, the players can pick up enemy weapons to use. With the context of World War 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One brings many complex missions and fierce battlefield. In this game, the player fights as a member of the 1st Infantry Division with nickname: Big Red One (named based on their logo). Besides, players will participate in a four-stage battle. Each of them will bring unique levels. At the beginning stage, players only have to complete a level to move foward/ go to the next one. The next stage will take players to the North African battlefield, in which gamers have to pass four levels. The third stage which bases on the American attack on Sicily (also known as Operation Husky), has three levels. Finally, the fourth stage which will take place with the landing of US troops into Europe, has five levels.
The game mode
Regarding the game mode, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One for PS 2 and Xbox provides gamers with the online mode. Besides, the GameCube version doesn’t possess a multi-player challenge. It only prepared for a campaign mode in the form of a personal challenge.
About the imaging system, the game has a steady frame rate. In this version, the character’s movement has significantly improved, which is better than its previous versions. However, the fire and explosion effects are not so authentic.
