Banjo-Kazooie is a single-player game, in which you will control the characters with a third perspective and complete the task based on the story. The game was released by Rare on Nintendo 64 in 1998.
The context of Banjo-Kazooie revolves around two characters including the bird Kazooie and the bear Banjo. They will make a dangerous journey in the jungle to rescue Tooty. In the game, Gruntilda is an evil witch who possesses modern scientific machines. She was trying to use magic to swap her body with Tooty for stealing the beauty. Join the journey, Banjo and Kazooie will have to collect different pieces in the forest and use them to solve puzzles as well as find ways to defeat the enemy.
There are 9 levels for players to conquer in the game. On the map, there will be pieces of Jiggies scattered everywhere. You need to collect all Jiggies on the map and use them to solve puzzles. However, finding Jiggies is not easy. You cannot know their exact position on the map. Many players cannot solve puzzles when they lack important pieces. Therefore, NPC was created to help players easily find Jiggies. NPC will appear at certain locations. When your character is exposed to NPC, they will give you side quests and suggestions to find Jiggies faster. After solving puzzles at the end of each level, Banjo and Kazooie will come to an old Gruntilda research centre to find more clues. From there, the two characters will continue to explore new areas in the forest to rescue Tooty. Besides, players need to consider when looking for a new area. The notes have a similar effect to the Jiggies and the player doesn’t need to collect them all to solve the puzzle. However, if you own a large number of Jiggies and notes, you can use them to skip some difficulty levels and take a big step forward.
Players will encounter greater difficulties when they move to a higher level. The game provides you with a supporter that can help you overcome challenges easier. For example, it gives you Mumbo Jumbo, which is a mage that can turn Banjo and Kazooie into many other creatures such as crocodiles, ants, pumpkins, hippos, bees… This help is very effective and players need to use it to overcome complex terrain or unknown areas.
