Mortal Kombat Trilogy is not a great version of Mortal Kombat series, which is an updated version for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 released in 1996. This version is available on Nintendo 64, PC, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, R-Zone and Game.com.
The gameplay’s updates
The story of this update is partly similar to Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, but it has many new features to satisfy players. Aggressor bar is a new feature that allows players to counter their opponents with more damage. The aggressor will increase when your character receives too much damage from opponents. When this bar is fulfilled, you can use Aggressor to boost the speed and power of your character in a short period. Players can easily knock down opponents and create infinite combos to crush their opponents. Besides, Brutality is a new battle operation. All the characters own this movement. Players need to perform the combo with 11 operations; a sequence of combos is launched to explode the enemy and bring a more enjoyable experience.
Tha character system
In addition, Mortal Kombat Trilogy has more characters than the old version. In particular, Baraka and Raiden, who appeared in Mortal Kombat II. Players are familiar with these two characters when they possess great power right from the start of the match. Chameleon is a ninja, who can make his body transparent. Also, he can borrow power from other ninjas by summoning them, such as Classic Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot, Reptile, Human Smoke , Emac and Rain. In the Nintendo 64 version, Chameleon was replaced by Khameleon. She has the same ability but only for female ninjas.
The graphics of this version are not different from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. The character’s attack effects have been added so that players can quickly identify. Kunglao’s air torpedoes will be clearer with the preparation gestures; Gorro uses tornadoes with the upgraded image quality; Raiden will release lightning right behind the opponent’s back instead of from the front side. These upgrades can increase the fighting power of some characters, and most players will have to change their gameplay in this version.
