WWF WrestleMania 2000 is the first game in the cooperation agreement between WWF and THQ Inc. It was released in North America and Europe in late 1999. On September 15, 2000, THQ Inc. continued to release for the Japanese market. The content of the game still focuses on competitive matches or group competitions for the championship title.

The character system

WWF WrestleMania 2000 has more than 50 characters for players to choose from. Besides, players can to participate in creating their professional wrestlers. The character creating feature has been expanded with more attractive modifications than other games of the same content. Along with the character creating, the game also provides a Create-a-Wrestler folder, which allows you to create up to 8 new championship belts and compete with other professional wrestlers.

The game mode and gameplay

In the game, Story Mode will bring the most fundamental challenges. You will start your career at WWF from an amateur wrestler. Therefore, you need to go through many different battles. At the end of the amateur stage, you need to take part in a few special battles to level up your rank. After completing those battles, you will start the professional tournament. From here, you have to try your best to compete with many other champions at WrestleMania 2000 to become the best of WWF. However, the story mode is not built with many separate stories for players to explore. When you lose a match, your competition record is only lost, and you still have the right to participate in new events. As for the nonlinear storyline, when you lose a match or special event, you will have to participate in the rematch to have the right to continue higher tournaments. In addition to winning the championship, players must also participate in special challenge events. Other characters will challenge you to win the title you currently own. Therefore, you will have to participate in a title protection match, which will be harder than winning new titles. Besides, players can experience two other exciting events, including King of the Ring and Royal Rumble.
