For the most part, this game is a platformer, with boss battles and online wifi being more of a fighting style. You have a basic 3-attack combo, low attack, mid-air attack, strong attack, and a massive running attack.
Though repetitive, the gameplay is somewhat commensurate. Although there is no depth like Bleach 2nd or Jump Ultimate Stars, the fighting has been tweaked slightly to be more balanced. The Wall Walk and Wall Jump are reasonably straightforward, although there are some problems. The combat mechanism is relatively simple but sure.
The central part of the game is to walk around on a platform arena, defeat enemies and move on. After each level, you will fight a small boss and possibly a boss at the end of the story.
The graphics have improved since a few games recently. Although they are still 2d, there are some very nice scenes, such as when Kakashi uses his special Mangekyo Sharingan, and the character is sucked into it. The characters look good, and they don’t just reflect visual symbols. When Kakashi turned to the other side, he received another piece of the puzzle, as one of his eyes was covered. Even though it’s not 3D, everything looks like a section, and the menus are excellent too.
The music in this game is passable. Nothing too good, but nothing again wrong. Some tracks can get a bit annoying, but that’s the volume control, right? The voice is pretty good if it’s a bit repetitive. The quality is much more precise than that of the Naruto Shinobi Retsuden and not cut out much. Overall the music and sound match the game. It’s not like they randomly get stuck in some Linkin Park. The music here is very oriental and fits the game like a glove.
