“Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” is a popular American television program. It focuses on intellectual challenges. In the game, players are mature people. Besides, their opponents are children who are in 5th grade. From this fascinating program, THQ developer produced an intellectual game with the same name. It was released on the Nintendo Wii platform on October 20, 2008.

The game content

Similar to the TV version, the game is built with the setting in a studio with the appearance of the host, audience and smart children. In addition, the game is built with 3D graphics, which helps bring the true motion, creating a sense of directly participating in the television program. Besides the goal of completing the puzzles, the player must also accumulate high scores to receive the game’s honorary bonuses. Completing each question of the game, you will receive a bonus to supplement the individual leaderboard. In particular, the lowest and easily reached bonus is $ 1,000, and the highest is $ 1,000,000, corresponding to the hardest question of the game.

The gameplay

In the game, players will join different forms of competition with different kids and questions. Each question will be related to a specific topic. Competing will fifth-grade children is a unique experience to test the player’s knowledge after years of development and changes in life.

The questions of the game will be limited to knowledge from first grade to fifth grades, such as geography, math, astronomy, and many other topics. When competing, there will be five kids participating in the game. Each of them will have unique knowledge. You will randomly select from one of five children to compete. In it, the player will give answers by selecting the answers that the program provides. After that, the child who competes with you will write the answer on a board. When the screen appears the answer to choose, the right corner of the screen will be displayed with two folders to support the player. The first directory is Cheats, which allows you to use some fraudulent methods to find the correct answer. The second folder is Drop Out, which is used in case you can’t give an answer and want to ask to stop the contest with the current points.
