Compared to its previous Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (2002), Deception has received better reviews. Because this version owns more characters for players to use. Besides adding a few new characters, those deleted from previous versions have been brought back. From there, players have many attractive options to participate in each match. In addition, the manufacturer also prepares for this game many attractive game modes to explore (Puzzle Kombat – based on Tetris-style puzzle, Chess Kombat and Konquest Mode).
The most basic is Kombat. In this challenge, players have three other small game parts as Arcade, Versus, and Practice. In which, Arcade is the familiar challenge, which allows players to randomly select a character to use and defeat. Next, Versus is a competition mode between two players against each other. Finally, Practice is a section to familiarize themselves with basic and special fighting techniques. Besides, MKD also offers three other interesting play modes as Konquest Mode, Puzzle Kombat and Chess Kombat. In Konquest Mode, players will participate in a play with adventure content.
In particular, this game will bring a new control system. Instead of the 2.5D environment, players will control a character, Shujinko in 3D with a third perspective. The game’s objective is to complete the requirements by moving from point A to point B. As for Puzzle Kombat and Chess Kombat, players will participate in interesting strategic challenges. In which, Puzzle Kombat requires players to quickly remove many blocks on the playground to defeat the enemy. With Chess Kombat, players will play an exciting chess match. Instead of basic chess, players can choose their favorite characters to represent each chess piece. In particular, the chess pieces will have to fight each other after each collision on the table.
In terms of image quality, Deception has beautiful graphics, and vividly built combat skills. Besides, this game also owns many interesting areas to explore, and each has a different context.
