Rayman 2 Revolution, also known as Rayman Revolution, is an upgraded version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape (1999). It was developed by Ubisoft and published by Ubisoft Annecy. It first appeared on the PlayStation 2 platform on December 22, 2000, in the European region. Next, the version for the North American was available on January 30, 2001. In addition to the PS 2 platform, this game was on PS 3 (using the PlayStation Network and applying only for North America).
The game’s content
The game’s content is similar to the original version, Admiral Razorbeard and the evil robot army controlled the world. Residents are enslaved. To save the world, the player has to collect the fragments of the Primordial Core. This will help summon Polokus and defeat the Admiral Razorbeard robots army.
Besides, this game also possesses some levels similar to the original. However, the manufacturer also has certain changes to refresh and create exciting adventures for the player to explore. First, The Hall of Doors will be removed, and the player will access levels through three separate areas. Each has different levels to conquer. They are The Minisaurus Plain, Globox’s House, and Rainbow Creek. In which, The Minisaurus Plain and Globox’s House have five levels for players to pass. And Rainbow Creek has eight levels and is a complex area with many diverse obstacles.
In addition, before reaching the three areas, the player has to overcome a basic level is The Woods of Light. With the careful and simple level system, the game also offers more dialogue or cutscenes to help players understand the story. In addition, the manufacturer also provides Rayman with some new powers and abilities to conquer challenges such as collecting items, overcoming pitfalls, or completing puzzles. Besides, the supporting characters also appear to help players upgrade the power for Rayman. For example, Ly offers the ability to improve Rayman’s health with some small games like Walks of Life and Power or Roller Coaster Challenge.
Rayman 2 Revolution also possesses good graphics quality as its previous. The 3D environment is vivid, and the images are sharp.
