Resident Evil – Code: Veronica was built with shooting challenges with the survival and horror elements. This game was available on February 3, 2000 by Capcom for Dreamcast. Besides, it is the fourth part of the Resident Evil series. Its origin is said to occur during the conversion of Resident Evil 2 to the Sega Saturn platform. However, the process was not successfully carried out. Therefore, the manufacturer decided to develop a new version and choose the Sega Dreamcast platform to release. As this system has better graphics processing than Sega Saturn.
The Resident Evil – Code: Veronica’s content has a design with new details. It is said to take place between Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 events. In addition, the main character is Claire Redfield and Chris Redfield. After leaving Raccoon City, Claire began to search for her brother, Chris. From the obtained information, she broke into an Umbrella Corporation facility which was located in Paris, the capital of France. However, the police discovered Claire and transferred her to a group’s prison on an island in the Southern Pacific Ocean. While being detained, an incident occurred and spread virus-T. Therefore, Claire had to try to survive on this dangerous island. As for Chris Redfield, he was not captured by Umbrella as Claire had expected. Next, Chris received a message from his sister through Leon S. Kennedy, and he began searching for the island that was holding Claire to rescue her.
In Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, the battle system and the mission will offer in two separate stages. Each allows players to control a different character, Chris or Claire. Besides, the player will control the character from a third perspective and try to survive in attacks from zombies (who have been infected by virus-T). In addition to fighting in many different areas, the game also offers puzzle challenges for players to collect many support items to use (medicine, weapons, and bullets). Besides, some completed puzzles will help players unlock new tasks to perform, and others will provide rewards to use. Along with being based on the story, the manufacturer also prepares a hidden game mode, it is Battle Mode. This mode is only unlocked when the player has conquered all the missions. Besides, its content will resemble a defensive mission. This means the player has to defend a fixed base and resist various attacks from enemies.
With a 3D system and a more flexible camera, Resident Evil – Code: Veronica will bring more vivid details. In addition, the visual details are built in the style of Gothic Fiction (also known as Gothic horror).
