The Game modes
Dragon Ball Z – Super Butoden has 3 game modes as Story Mode, Tournament Mode, and Combat Mode. In which, Story Mode is based on the Piccolo Jr. Saga’s events to Cell Games Saga (from the Dragon Ball Z series). This game brings over 11 different battles to explore. In Tournament Mode, there are 8 characters to participate in the competition to find the champion. This mode brings many different rounds, and each match will be held at a stage of the World Martial Arts Tournament. In Combat Mode, you can create a match to compete with the CPU or another player.
In particular, you can choose 1 of the 13 controllable characters to participate in the competition. During a battle, the screen will display two different status bars for each character, including a vitality bar and a power bar. The health bar will be fully charged at the start, and the other requires the player to move in accordance with the requirements to fully recharge the Energy Wave. You can participate in combat in 2 environments, at ground level, and in the air. An interesting feature is that it allows the two characters to move apart from each other on the ring. For example, one character can stand and the other can fly in the air. When it happens, a red border will appear on the screen (splitting the screen in two parts with different areas) to divide the distance between the two characters.
