Kirby’s Dream Land 3 is a platformer video game developed by HAL Laboratory. Featuring Kirby, this is the fifth installment in the Kirby series and the third game under Kirby’s Dream Land.
The controls are simple – one button to jump, one button to inhale an enemy (the same button to use your power if you have inhaled an enemy), one button to create a helper. Select is to remove your current strength. However, you have to press left or right on the D-pad for Kirby to run, which can be frustrating. Kirby’s controls are a bit ‘slippery’ – if you stop suddenly, you’ll most likely slip a bit. But that’s how it was designed.
Gameplay in Kirby games is always fascinating, and so is this game. Kirby’s best power lies in her mouth – the ability to inhale enemies and adjust their controls like yours. For example, if you inhale a fire enemy, Kirby will have the ability to fly across the screen like a fireball. Inhale a rock enemy, and Kirby will be able to transform into a rock. Kirby has animal friends – birds, cats, hamsters, fish, and more. If you control Kirby with an animal friend and have superior power, that animal will use that extraordinary power. For example, if you encounter a fire and are in a cloud, an obstructer will use fire control to spit fire instead of turning into a fireball like Kirby without an animal. Ok, to the stages. There are five worlds. Each world has five stages and a boss. That makes up 25 stages. But to complete them you have to please a friend during that period. On a game screen, a snake wants to play a game of hiding and seek with you. If you find him and win the game, then the level is over. The station is complete.
Sound and music have always been essential parts of the Kirby series, and this game does not disappoint. Perfect music and attractive title theme. The sound effects are dead. But I prefer the music in Kirby Superstar.
